Benefits Available

Local Union Sick Benefit Fund Health & Welfare Disability Benefit

Members becoming sick or disabled and who have been in continuous good standing in the Local for six (6) months prior to such sickness or disability shall receive sick benefits - providing they furnish to the Sick Committee a satisfactory Doctor's certificate from a physician selected by the Sick Committee or one acceptable to it, certifying to illness or disability.

To be eligible for sick benefits, a member shall notify the Financial Secretary within one week form the beginning of his sickness or disability.  The Financial Secretary shall in turn notify the Sick Committee and the Business Manager's office.  No benefits shall be paid unless sickness or disability extends beyond a period of two weeks - then benefits shall be effective from the beginning of such sickness or disability.

Sick Benefits of $50 per week shall be paid for a period not to exceed eight (8) weeks in any twelve (12) consecutive months.

Local Union members currently covered by Health and Welfare may be eligible for disability benefits under the terms and conditions of the Local Union Health and Welfare Fund Plan.
